Titled 1942 Knucklehead EL engine. Cases are in perfect condition. Vin is correct and has matching belly numbers. There is no visible issue or repairs on them.
I’m no knucklehead know it all so If there are any historians out there feel free to correct me but from my investigation this is what we came up with.
– Heads look correct for 1942
– Front rocker box is a 1946
– Rear rocker box is a 1947
– Cam cover is correct
– Barrels are aftermarket
– Oil pump looks correct but the outer cover is later 60s
It’s obviously not all period correct but at the end of the day this is a rare bird with only 620 civilian 1942 EL models produced due to wartime manufacturing priorities.
I was told it ran a few years back and It was in a bike that was being restored and put back together. I don’t see why it wouldn’t fire up as everything spins and feels like it should but I would go through it regardless.
